Kyoukai No Kanata

Hello, Welcome back to Cup of Tea . This is another review by me, The Tart Pastry.  Now I have to admit, I've had a rough couple of days, and they don't look like they'll be getting any easier, so if my usual mood is much more somber as I review please forgive me. I will be ok, but it will take a lot of time. But onto our review for this time, Kyoukai No Kanata, which I must say first hand is a beautifully animated series and was tragically only 12 episodes. If you can manage, watch it with the best quality as possible so the magic isn't lost on you. I mean look at this: It never ceases to please me over how much anime has advanced over the past couple of years and how wonderful things have gotten with detail and fluidity. So if you're looking for animated pornography of the artsy kind, that is one of the reasons I recommend this anime.  But plot wise, a quick synopsis is that the main girl here, Mirai Kuriyama, is the last of her clan. One that...

Why yes hello! Welcome to Cup of Tea! I am the Tart Pastry and I am here for another review, and on another hot button Anime that came out recently. Now let me say this right now, I have rather picky tastes in what I choose to read, watch and indulge in, and this one is one of the few where I definitely don't usually enjoy a lot of the elements within it, and I normally would have glazed over it, but considering the anime is based off of swimming as a sport, it actually nestled into my heart due to my love of the sport in high school. (I was in it all four years of high school and enjoyed it immensely despite my lack of friendly peers minus a small handful). I'm pretty sure without that element to it I wouldn't have stuck with it, and I am certainly glad I did!! Mind you, I still sort of eye twitch at the moe moe kyun sparkly desu bullshiznit that goes on in it every now and again but it's found a place in my heart. It's based on those you see here in t...

Nisekoi: False Love

Image
Name: Nisekoi (False Love) Genre: Romance, Comedy, Shounen Rating: PG 13 Written & Illustrated by: Naoshi Komi Produced by: Shaft, Aniplex, Aniplex of America Spring's here and love is in the air! Or wait... Are those sparks? I can never tell the difference in, the rather predictable anime, Nisekoi. Opening: The opening of the first episode is rather impressive. Maybe a bit too impressive. It starts out with a blank film reel and then develops into an exaggerated environment of mountains and grass. It zooms in on two children, Raku and a mystery girl, from afar, only to jump to an impressively designed locket, which looks like it has some super power that'll destroy the world once it's unlocked, slowly falling from the sky and gently landing in young Raku's hand. The statement "Forever in love" is mentioned and the girl proposes that he keeps the locket and she'll keep the key. When they meet again, they will unlock the locket and get mar...

Kill la Kill

Welcome to Cup of Tea! Here we are discussing a rather famous and well-known anime as of late, or as I'd like to call it, 'A Walking Hoochie Circus'.  Despite the blatant fan-service consisting of abundant jigglies and male specimen which is intricately twined with anime tropes and perverted humor, I thoroughly enjoyed this anime, even though some of the content and writing did sort of push my buttons in the wrong way. (Although they managed to give you an explanation as to why it's a naked party or half naked party through and through, it's still the controversial but well known fan-service for mostly men, and to their credit, women too, that sort of danced along my nerves.) If you like action packed anime with drama, laughs, obvious sexual things, and even some heart string tuggers in there, this anime is definitely for you and I highly recommend it!  It is centered around Matoi Ryuko, a spunky, loyal girl who was labeled as a delinquent for h...
