Jazzed About Pokemon Sun and Moon!

Image
Greetings everyone! Been a while, right? Well, lots of things have been happening in my life, but that's not why I'm here today. Today, I'm writing about something different from my usual topics. I mean, kind of different. Still the same geeky genre I guess. Okay! Enough stalling! I'm just gonna go and say it... As I was going into my Google music, Google was kind enough to suggest me some new jazz album to make my Saturday morning smooth. Seeing how I dig jazz, I said, "Why not?", and opened it up. Next thing I knew, a familiar tune was playing. It was the Alola theme from Pokemon Sun and Moon!! I, instantly, was filled with joy as the jazz rendition played beautifully through my headphones. It still had the same feelings of joyful adventure the original had, but now with a, somehow, refined sound to it. I quickly looked at the album title and realized it was an entire jazz cover for Pokemon Sun and Moon. At that moment, I knew I had to share my discove...

White Island

Image
This is one of the very few original games out there for mobile devices that I deem legit. White Island, a mystery puzzle game, created by VisualShower sure does stand out. But, before I continue, here's a short No-Spoilers summary of the story. It is a mystery game after all. (Insert cliche tongue emoticon) White Island, named such because of the plethora of white lilies which infest the entire island, holds the secret to the many disappearances of people which happen every year. These lilies may be the key to solving the many disappearances or they may just be the cause. Four college students, whom their professor, obsessed with the island, ends up becoming one of the many missing, decide to uncover the truth of his whereabouts, yet stumble into something bigger than they could have possibly imagined. Hunted down by an unknown killer with an unknown agenda, they must do all they can to survive and uncover the secrets the island holds. Will they come out alive and un...

Pokemon 20th February Mew Giveaway

Image
Pokemon has been with us for 20 years now! Damn I feel old... Anyway, in light of it's 20th anniversary, They've decided to give all of it's fans a legendary Pokemon each month of this year! And, what better Pokemon to start it off than the first legendary Pokemon that started it all, the mysterious, and rather mischievous, enigma, Mew! That's right! Already halfway through and going on without a hitch... wait... WHAT!?!? ALL THE GAMESTOPS IN MY AREA ARE OUT!? WHAT THE F***!! They're sure to get some in before the 24th, right? RIGHT!? NO!??? This was ultimately my response as the GameStop associate broke the news to me. 20 years of Pokemon distributions and they still screw it up... My naive self thought the event was going to be similar to any other wireless Pokemon distribution. Apparently, Pokemon thought it'd be a BRILLIANT idea to give away the Pokemon with this. THIS!! A card with a unique generated code you scratch off to reve...

Riptide GP2

Image
Shred some waves in the intense racing game, Riptide GP2! Riptide GP2 brings classic racing gameplay and an amazing futuristic environment with realistic physics to your mobile device. Control you very own Hydro Jet and prove your worth on the race track! As you fight for first place at the finish line, you must jump ramps and do tricks to increase your turbo boost; similar to other water racing games. You can then use your boost to speed past the competition. Every race is randomly paired with a techno track to accompany you and make your race come alive. You can either choose to use motion or touch to control the direction of your watercraft. Personally, I find it's more responsive using motion control, which I was highly disappointed because I usually prefer touch control. However, seeing that the tricks heavily rely on touch motions, I suppose it evens out. I was absolutely stunned by the graphics in the game. For a mobile game, you don't usually find graphics tha...

Kyoukai No Kanata

Hello, Welcome back to Cup of Tea . This is another review by me, The Tart Pastry.  Now I have to admit, I've had a rough couple of days, and they don't look like they'll be getting any easier, so if my usual mood is much more somber as I review please forgive me. I will be ok, but it will take a lot of time. But onto our review for this time, Kyoukai No Kanata, which I must say first hand is a beautifully animated series and was tragically only 12 episodes. If you can manage, watch it with the best quality as possible so the magic isn't lost on you. I mean look at this: It never ceases to please me over how much anime has advanced over the past couple of years and how wonderful things have gotten with detail and fluidity. So if you're looking for animated pornography of the artsy kind, that is one of the reasons I recommend this anime.  But plot wise, a quick synopsis is that the main girl here, Mirai Kuriyama, is the last of her clan. One that...

Why yes hello! Welcome to Cup of Tea! I am the Tart Pastry and I am here for another review, and on another hot button Anime that came out recently. Now let me say this right now, I have rather picky tastes in what I choose to read, watch and indulge in, and this one is one of the few where I definitely don't usually enjoy a lot of the elements within it, and I normally would have glazed over it, but considering the anime is based off of swimming as a sport, it actually nestled into my heart due to my love of the sport in high school. (I was in it all four years of high school and enjoyed it immensely despite my lack of friendly peers minus a small handful). I'm pretty sure without that element to it I wouldn't have stuck with it, and I am certainly glad I did!! Mind you, I still sort of eye twitch at the moe moe kyun sparkly desu bullshiznit that goes on in it every now and again but it's found a place in my heart. It's based on those you see here in t...
